I don’t aspire to be a good man; I aspire to be a whole man.

WHAT TO EXPECT

  • Initial consultation:

New clients who wish to establish care with Dr. Lord must first schedule a 50-minute initial consultation, or intake interview. During this time, information regarding mental health history and future goals will be discussed. Medications may or may not be prescribed at this time. Follow-up visit(s) will be scheduled as needed and tailored to each client’s needs.

  • Medication management:

Medication can be an important tool in the journey to health. Whether a client has been on medication previously or is exploring this possibility for the first time, an initial consultation will be conducted for every new client. Subsequent medication management visits serve to track progress over time and make adjustments to medication when needed. These visits are 15 minutes and scheduled about once every 1 to 6 months on average.

  • Individual therapy:

One of the most enriching options for achieving wellness is individual therapy. In this practice, one-on-one talk therapy is conducted in 50 minute sessions. Typically clients find weekly visits to be optimal, though meetings can be scheduled more or less frequently if appropriate. For those also benefiting from medications, conversations regarding medication management can be accomplished during therapy sessions so that separate medication-focused visits are not necessary.

Telepsychiatry

Telepsychiatry is available upon request for those who wish to participate in care remotely via video. Our practice utilizes safe technology for telepsychiatry appointments to ensure privacy. Clients need access to a phone or computer with video capabilities, reliable internet, and a private location. Dr. Lord recommends initial consultations occur in-person. Services and fees mirror those of in-person appointments.
